Not all eco cups are created equal
We thought that was rubbish. So we made something that wasn’t.
Every year, Kiwis toss millions of plastic cups and lids — most of which end up in landfill, even the ‘compostable’ ones.
That’s because, due to their synthetic linings, most compostable cups are only commercially compostable — which means unless they’re collected, sorted, and sent to the right facility, they don’t break down properly.
What many people don't realise is that the standard takeaway coffee cup with plastic, hidden or otherwise, will never truly decompose.
Imagine the difference we could make if we swapped this small ritual for something that celebrates the circular economy. It all stacks up.
Little Rotter paper cups are made with 100% natural materials such as tapioca-resin coating (biodegradable). These natural polymers prevent your cup from going soggy while you’re enjoying your brew, but are designed to break down just like food scraps - no special conditions, no industrial heat, no microplastics left behind.
Just an attractive, sustainable alternative to traditional plastics (hidden or otherwise).
